When you need it

Depth Diagnosis

Spray canopy, mixing system and HVLP equipment set up at your driveway. Everything self-contained.

Prep & Mask

Surrounding area sanded, feather-edged and masked. Any exposed metal sealed with etch primer.

Spray & Cure

Base coat and 2K clearcoat applied with HVLP, cured under infrared heat to full factory hardness.

Polish & Hand Back

Three-stage machine polish blends the repair edge into the surrounding panel. Final walkaround with you before we leave.

Clearcoat scratches (most common)

Scratch is in the top clearcoat layer only, your fingernail glides over it cleanly. Machine compounding and three-stage polish remove these without painting at all. Typical cost £60–£140 per panel.

Paint-depth scratches

Your fingernail catches in the scratch and you see white paint or a different colour at the bottom, that's primer showing through. Needs proper SMART respray of the affected area, base coat plus clearcoat. Typical cost £180–£320 per panel.

Primer / metal scratches

Deep gouge showing bare metal at the bottom. Requires etch primer sealing, fill if needed, plus full base and clear refinishing. Critical to repair quickly, exposed metal corrodes within weeks in UK conditions. Typical cost £220–£380.

Materials and method

Plastic-flex primers on bumpers, etch primer on bare metal, manufacturer-matched water- or solvent-based base coats, 2K urethane clearcoat. All cured under infrared heat for full factory hardness, never air-dried.

Where SMART repair stops

If a scratch crosses 4+ panels, has bent the underlying steel, or is part of accident damage with structural impact, those need a bodyshop, not SMART repair. We'll tell you straight and refer you on if needed.
